The analysis of the reason for the damage of cylindrical roller bearings is an elaborate technical process, especially for the handling of accident scenes. Based on the years of on-site processing experience our company encountered, we have summarized four points for your reference.
Disassembly of damaged cylindrical roller bearings
In order to understand the failure better, a special attention needed during the disassembly. The specific attention is not only to its correct position and disassembly order of bearing components (especially for multi-row rolling mill neck bearings), it is also important to check if there is still residual lubricant on the bearing components and the conditions of the residual lubricant (dry or coking). Moreover, the corresponding relationship between the load area of the bearing installation and the damaged parts of the bearing should be analyzed in order to collect complete failure information. Few important things we summarize them here.
1. Investigation of the relevant parts
The main contents of the investigation on the relevant parts of the cylindrical roller bearings include the dimensions and form/position error of the bearing part of the bearings, the installation and arrangement of the bearing housing and the integrity of the sealing device, etc.
2. Investigation of the lubrication area
The investigation contents include whether the oil level of the fuel tank (cavity) is reasonable, whether the lubrication pipe and the distribution system are unblocked, the brand and grade of lubricant, the lubrication parameters (replacement period, dosage, etc.) and the test record of the previous lubricant.
3. Collection of operating parameters
The operating parameters mainly include: loading capacity, rotational speed, bearing vibration during operation, working temperature, the changes in parameters of main engine operating (such as rolling reduction of rolling process, rolling temperature of steel, current change of driving motor, etc.), the actual running time, and the equipment inspection records.
Based on the observation, it is important to make inspection records, and then, to find out the cause of failure in details. Please email lyhg@lyhgbearing.com for further technical supports.
