High carbon chromium bearing steel is chromium 1.30 ~ 1.65% high-carbon alloy steel, which is characterized by: the microstructure is more uniform and stable after heat treatment, high hardness and uniformity, good wear resistance, high contact fatigue strength, good dimensional stability and corrosion resistance. After annealing, its cutting performance is good, and the price is relatively cheap. This steel can meet the requirements of the bearing under normal operating conditions.

High-carbon chromium bearing steel is widely used in the world, the most commonly used types are GCr15 and GCr15SiMn, accounted for about 80% of the total amount of bearing steel in China, the performance of the two kinds of steel is basically the same, but the quenching permeability of GCr15SiMn is better than GCr15, so for larger size bearing parts, should adopt GCr15SiMn steel, high-carbon chromium bearing steel is widely used in the manufacture of rolling bearing rings and rolling parts.

GCr15 bearing steel is widely used to manufacture spindle bearings, railway bearings,engine bearings, machine tools bearings, mining machinery bearings, general machinery bearings etc.

GCr15SiMn bearing steel is mainly used to manufacture thick wall bearings, such as large and extra large size bearings, used in heavy machinery and rolling mill machinery.
